Hunted out for slaughter by the deadly entity known as the Scourge, the peaceful creatures of enchantment known as the Seerkind band together to seek safety within one intricately magical object: a carpet. They call it the Fugue. Weaveworld.

A glimpse of this wonderland changes working class Cal Mooney's drab life forever, forcing him to learn more of the remarkable world he saw... and he's not alone in his obsession. Arcane forces propel Suzanna Parish, half-breed granddaughter to the Fugue's Custodian, into signing on in the fantastic and deadly battle to protect the world within the weave... while the evil sorceress Immacolata, aided by the malevolent salesman Shadwell, plots a terrible revenge on her unsuspecting people.
